Print Care Guidlines

All photographs are shipped in a rigid cardboard tube. The prints are carefully rolled in acid-free tissue paper and secured with tape. Please refer to below guidance on removing your photograph from the tube –

Option #1 - Weigh the Photograph Down

  • Carefully unroll the photograph.
  • Lay the photograph flat, image-side down, on a clean, flat surface.
  • On each corner, place a heavy object. Heavy books, magazines, plates, and even heavy weights work well.
  • Leave the photograph flat underneath the heavy objects for at least a day, but it may need even more time

Option #2 - The Reverse-Roll

If your photograph is curled in one direction, merely curl it in the opposite direction to try and undo it. Follow the steps below to reverse roll your photograph and be extremely careful not to create any wrinkles or creases on the photograph as you go.

  1. Carefully unroll the photograph.
  2. Spread it image-side down on a clean, dust-free surface.
  3. Roll the photograph in the opposite direction it was initially rolled.
  4. Secure it with rubber bands (Avoid tape or stickers if possible, to avoid tearing the photograph).
  5. Leave the photograph in a safe environment for a couple of hours to avoid accidents, creases, and wrinkles.
  6. Unroll– if it still doesn’t lay all the way flat, reverse roll again and leave it for a few hours.

Option #3 - Place the Photograph Directly into A Frame

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • Handle with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves.
  • Hold by the edges only and avoid touching the printed surface.
  • Do not bend or crease the paper.
  • Frame behind UV-protective glass or museum-grade acrylic using acid-free, archival materials.
  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and areas of high humidity.
  • Store flat in protective packaging when not framed.
